At Eastwood, learning extends well beyond the classroom. We believe that education is enriched when children are given opportunities to question, create, perform, compete, explore and discover their own strengths. Our co-curricular programme is therefore an integral part of school life, offering students varied platforms to develop confidence, critical thinking, creativity, teamwork and a healthy spirit of competition.
Thinking, Speaking and Leading
In a world where the ability to think independently and express oneself with clarity has become more important than ever, we actively encourage healthy discussion and informed dialogue. Debates in English, Hindi and Punjabi are organised every academic year, giving students an opportunity to articulate their views, listen to opposing perspectives and build arguments with confidence and reason.
We have also successfully organised a Youth Parliament Session, providing students with a meaningful platform to understand democratic processes and engage with important issues through discussion and deliberation. Similarly, our students participate in Model United Nations (MUN) Conferences, where they step into the shoes of global representatives and deliberate upon pressing concerns facing the world today.
Challenging Young Minds
Our annual Prodigy Quiz brings together curious minds for an engaging test of knowledge across Science, Social Science, English and Current Affairs. The competition encourages students to remain observant, informed and intellectually curious about the world around them. The Spelling Bee further helps nurture a love for language while sharpening vocabulary, pronunciation and the ability to think quickly under pressure.
Creativity Without Boundaries
Creativity finds expression at Eastwood in many forms. Our students participate in activities such as role plays, poster making, drawing and painting, rangoli making, dance and singing, often organised to mark important occasions and events throughout the year.
One of our most distinctive creative endeavours has been the Sustainable Fashion Show, successfully organised twice. Here, our students become young designers, transforming waste and discarded materials into imaginative outfits and then confidently showcasing their creations on the ramp. The activity brings together creativity and environmental consciousness, proving that innovation can often emerge from the most unexpected places.
Activities such as making bird feeders also encourage students to look beyond themselves and develop a sense of care for the living world around them—because at Eastwood, kindness and responsibility are values we hope to nurture alongside talent.
The Spirit of Sport
Sport is another important arena in which our students learn discipline, perseverance, teamwork and resilience. Every year, our boys and girls participate enthusiastically in the Punjab Games Zonal Level Tournaments, consistently making their presence felt and emerging as champions in various sporting disciplines. Our young athletes compete in boxing, skating, chess, football and cricket, badminton, lawn tennis bringing pride to the school through their dedication and sporting spirit.
Learning Through Experiences
We believe that some of the most memorable lessons are learnt when children step outside the four walls of a classroom. Regular excursions to nearby educational and historical places allow students to connect what they learn with the world around them and experience history, culture and knowledge more closely.
Age-appropriate tours are also an eagerly awaited part of the Eastwood experience. Over the years, our students have travelled together to destinations including Delhi, Agra, Shimla, Jaipur and Goa, creating memories while learning the value of independence, companionship and exploration.
For our younger learners too, we ensure that school life is filled with moments of wonder and joy. Once a year, our auditorium is transformed into a movie theatre for the children of the Kindergarten and Primary Wings—a simple experience that becomes a day of excitement and shared memories.
Celebrating the Moments That Matter
At Eastwood, celebrations are never just about marking dates on a calendar. Children's Day, Teachers' Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day are observed in our own thoughtful ways, with gestures and activities designed to make the people at the heart of our school community feel valued and appreciated.
Whether our students are standing at a podium, solving a quiz question, taking the field, designing an outfit, travelling to a new place or simply participating in a celebration, every experience contributes to their growth. Our co-curricular activities are designed to ensure that children discover who they are beyond academics, learn to work with others, embrace challenges and develop the confidence to find their own place in an ever-changing world.
After all, education is not only about preparing children to make a living—it is also about helping them learn how to think, create, connect, contribute and live with purpose.
