NCC – National Cadet Corps

NCC: Shaping Discipline, Character and Courage

At Eastwood, we believe that education must provide children with opportunities to discover strengths that may not always reveal themselves within a classroom. The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is one such platform—a journey that encourages young people to develop discipline, confidence, responsibility and the spirit of service.

We are proud to have introduced the Army Wing of the NCC in 2025, becoming the first school in the vicinity to offer this opportunity to its students. Since then, NCC has emerged as a valuable platform for our young Eastwoodians to learn, grow and challenge themselves in new ways.

Having successfully completed our first batch, we are now proud to welcome our second batch, comprising a troop of 50 cadets. Our students are enrolled under the 20 Punjab Battalion NCC, Bathinda, and step into this experience with enthusiasm and a willingness to embrace the responsibilities that come with wearing the NCC uniform.

NCC offers students an opportunity to develop qualities that will remain with them long after their school years. Through training and participation in various activities, cadets learn the value of discipline, punctuality, physical fitness, teamwork and perseverance. They are encouraged to become more self-reliant, responsible and aware of their duties towards society and the nation.

For many students, NCC is also their first experience of being part of an organisation that demands commitment, coordination and a sense of collective responsibility. Every cadet learns that leadership is not merely about giving directions, but about setting an example, supporting one's team and carrying out one's duties with sincerity.

As Eastwood's NCC journey continues to grow, we look forward to seeing our cadets make the most of the many opportunities this platform offers. We are immensely proud to be among the first schools in the area to introduce NCC and to provide our students with an avenue through which they can develop courage, character and a strong sense of purpose.

For our young cadets, NCC is much more than an activity—it is an opportunity to step out of their comfort zones, discover their potential and grow into disciplined, confident and responsible citizens, ready to serve and lead wherever life takes them.
