The Eastwood Scroll: Where Young Voices Find Their Place
 

The Eastwood Scroll is more than an annual student magazine; it is a space where young minds are encouraged to think, question, imagine and express themselves. Instituted in 2017 under the umbrella of the Eastwood Editorial Board, the Scroll has grown into a much-loved student endeavour and a reflection of the ideas, creativity and concerns that matter to our learners.
 

At Eastwood, we believe that a young mind is a rich and ever-expanding treasure trove of ideas. The Scroll gives those ideas a place to take shape. Its student editorial team is selected each year through an audition and interview process, bringing together young people who are curious about the world and passionate about exploring it. Guided by their educators, the team engages in discussions, exchanges perspectives, brainstorms possibilities and eventually arrives at the subjects and themes they wish to explore.

The result is a publication as varied as the minds behind it. The Eastwood Scroll delves into issues concerning the modern school-going student, including emotional and mental well-being, relationships, friendships and other aspects of growing up. At the same time, it makes room for literature, poetry, fiction, personal narratives and creative expression through music, cinema, dance and art. There is always something to provoke thought, something to stir emotion and, occasionally, something simply to bring a smile.
 

What makes the Scroll particularly special is that it remains, at its heart, a student endeavour. From the initial spark of an idea to the many rounds of writing, revising and editing, the publication is shaped by the commitment and imagination of its young creators. It offers students not merely an opportunity to write, but also to listen, collaborate, accept different viewpoints and refine their ideas.
 

Every edition of the Eastwood Scroll is therefore a collection of more than articles and artwork. It is a record of young voices discovering what they have to say and learning how to say it with honesty, sensitivity and courage. In doing so, the Scroll embodies what we value at Eastwood: curious minds, creative spirits, confidence to engage with the world—and, above all, the kindness and empathy to understand it better.
