Querencia: A Celebration That Brings Eastwood Together
 

Querencia is Eastwood's much-awaited Annual Day celebration, but to call it merely an event would be to miss what makes it truly special. It is a celebration that begins long before the lights come on and the curtains rise. In the weeks leading up to it, the entire school comes alive with an energy unlike any other. Corridors echo with music, classrooms become rehearsal spaces, costumes and props take shape, and every corner of the campus seems to be preparing for something extraordinary. It feels, quite simply, like the whole school is getting ready for a festival.
 

The word Querencia speaks of a place where one feels safe and from which one draws strength—and that spirit lies at the heart of our celebration. It brings together the many people who make Eastwood what it is. Students, teachers, the management, helping staff and our parent community all become part of one shared effort, each contributing in their own way to create something memorable.
 

What makes Querencia particularly exciting is that it refuses to stand still. Every year brings with it a new theme, a fresh vision and the challenge of imagining something bigger and better than before. Ideas are discussed, reimagined and transformed through weeks of hard work, creativity and collaboration. There are long rehearsals, last-minute changes, moments of pressure and plenty of laughter along the way—but through it all runs an unmistakable sense of togetherness.
 

And then comes the day itself. Months of preparation culminate in an evening of colour, music, movement, storytelling and celebration. The stage may belong to our students, but the achievement belongs to an entire community that has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the spectacle possible.
 

Each edition of Querencia has its own identity, yet one thing remains constant: the determination to surpass ourselves. At Eastwood, some of our greatest strengths emerge when creative minds come together with a common purpose. Querencia is a testament to that collective spirit—a day like no other, where hard work feels worthwhile, creativity knows no bounds and everyone involved shares the joy of delivering something truly spectacular.

For us, Querencia is not simply an Annual Day. It is the celebration of a community at its most vibrant—working hard, dreaming big and enjoying every moment of the journey together.
